Yes. theaifd reads the trial balance, the chart of accounts and the bank lines from Xero through a read only connection that your practice or your client approves. Either can disconnect it at any time.

theaifd works with the accounting software your clients already use. It reads from Xero and QuickBooks through read only connections, works from a FreeAgent trial balance export, and works from bank statements and records where there is no software at all.
Does theaifd work with QuickBooks?
Yes. theaifd connects to QuickBooks Online in the same way, read only, to read the trial balance, the chart of accounts, the VAT codes and the bank lines. The connection is approved by your practice or your client, and the access tokens are held encrypted.
Does theaifd work with FreeAgent?
Yes, from a FreeAgent trial balance export. theaifd maps it to its own model of the accounts, so a FreeAgent client follows the same review and sign off route as any other.
What if a client keeps records in spreadsheets?
theaifd works from bank statements and the client's records, so a client without accounting software can still have a year end or a Self Assessment return prepared.
Can theaifd change anything in a client's accounting software?
No. Every connection is read only. Nothing is posted, edited or deleted in a client's ledger unless your practice asks in writing for that job.
